Cleanliness is next to sanity

I made myself a promise to clean up my desk while my first cup of coffee was still hot. It's lukewarm, but that's not procrastination, that's a husband who makes coffee before his 6:30a.m. tee time.  Who does that?  I stopped asking years ago.  If the man wants to get up while it's still pitch black to walk five miles carrying forty pounds of gear so he can whack a defenseless white ball around in the grass with metal stick, who am I to judge.
Personally, I cleaned my desk while I drank lukewarm coffee.  That's more than enough achievement for a weekend morning.   I couldn't bring myself to show you the before, but here's a picture of my new blog book:

Now, I'm off to plan my take over of the world, pinkie...
well, my part of it, anyway..
happy saturday, blogobody.

  3. Very impressive! My husband is a birdwatcher and gets up early to explore a nearby site. I can imagine it will get worse in Holland, as there are birds galore there (even a storks' nest in the town hall near our abode; apparently they return every April. But I'm quite happy for him to go out and leave me in peace (and to sleep late). :) Love that hydrangea photograph, by the way.

  4. I thought so! I mean, that coffee was tepid! As to the birdwatching, I have to say that makes more sense to me than abusing a golf ball, but I can't imagine a stork or a yellow bellied anything being enough to roust me from my warm bed on a cold winter morning.
Thank you for that compliment. Given your gift and craft, that's high praise.

And your desk looks very nice, mon cheri.

  6. a blog book is a sign of weakness. I should use one of the two smart phones I carry around with me, but I can't seem to divorce myself from pen and paper. I must secretly want trees to die. I carry it with me and write down ideas for blogging in hopes that blogging will make me a better writer. I also have magic beans and a rock I rub on my forehead to make me look 20.

  7. Hey Tracy, first of all, thanks for stopping by my blog and saying what you did. Second of all, I am really enjoying yours! Your sense of humor is great - I love blogs (and people, and situations, and...anything) that makes me laugh. Thirdly, I share your blog book "weakness." But is it a weakness? I love using a pen and paper - it's more comfortable. Whatever you attribute it to, I think you are a great writer. I will be back!

  8. well, yah know, Jeff, we know it's a strength, but if we let on we know that, it'll make all those thumb typists self conscious and not in a good way. ;)
all silliness aside, if you've laughed, I've done good and thank you for saying so.
